For the top add you could have some of the leaves come over the add on the sides so it does not pop as much.

I also think you should make the hole where you see the current page bigger it just seems so small right now and the art would look nicer then the plant thing below it :)

The white text does look kinda of bad but o well you might think about moving the rss feed, share, and twitter buttons some where more out of the way and just make the links to important things bigger and taking up its place they links seem kind of small.

it does seem to be vary wide i looked at in on my non wide screen monitor and it cuts of all of the right most ad. you might think of making things smaller in width or changing the money add to the right side so people see it more.

all in all your front page in now leaps and bounds better then the old one :)

New page looks much better but it loads really slow. One of my pet peeves.

Hi .

We like it very much, especially the 'hole' in the texture revealing the current page. By the way, whith page 11, it worked especially well. Gave the impression that we could fall through the hole down to the crypt. We think that's unique (never saw anything similar) and should be emphasized. Maybe with some overlay shadow, to give the impression the image is further down the hole. Don't know if this makes sense, but... love it !

As for text over textured background, It can work, as long as the shadow effect (white shadows work pretty well too) is soft (blurred) and strong at the same time (ok, another "uuugh?" piece advice). It sure works for the adds.

And by the way, the art is A-MA-ZING.

I much approve of the changes to the front page.

One suggestion as to how you may get more votes for Dead Heaven (and thus more readers)....
Most webcomics disable the "Next" button when you've reached the last page, some take it away completely, some have it loop back to the website home page. Recently, The Phoenix Requiem has changed tactics from the looping back to the home page; instead, it now goes to http://requiem.seraph-inn.com/last.html

I ALWAYS end up hitting the next button, just hoping for another lovely/interesting/funny page, no matter what comic I'm reading. Somehow, the "Thanks for visiting, btw, if you liked it, please vote" -- the simplicity of it, the lack of other distracts, gets me to actually vote MUCH more often than just having the little button on the main home page. This may work well for others too, and help more people discover your wonderful work.

Hello there,

I just discovered your new site design and I much approve of the changes you made. Having the site go right to the latest page is a good thing (saves one click!) and I also like the smaller format of each page. However I assume that if you ever publish this in book form the pages would be in the larger format?
Another thing that is great is that the adds are at the bottom next to the news now, instead of being on the sides of the page. I didn't really mind the adds but it is certainly a visual improvement.

By the way, is it possible that you made some changes to certain pages? I went back through the archives and I seem to remember King Gailann looking a bit different in the last page (42 now), but that might very well be my poor memory.

Finally, it is a good thing that you broke down the archives by scenes, although the only thing is that we can no longer select individual pages within a scene, not that this is much of a problem.

All right I will shut up now,

Happy new year! your new site is great!

Hey, thanks man.
It was a long time coming. I know the updates in Nov/Dec were sporadic at best, and part of the reason was doing this redesign. I am much happier with this.

Glad you like it!
